In under 3 years, our projects have raised over $12,000 in support of charities across Calgary, while also fostering connections between community members, and providing others with an avenue to get involved.
Below, is a detailed summary of all of our past projects, as well as progress regarding our current initiatives. If you have any questions about our work, please feel free to

BOTTLE COLLECTION SERVICE: OUR CURRENT PROGRESS

PAST PROJECTS AND PROGRESS
VIRTUAL PAW-TAY! - FEB 2021
Our Virtual Paw-tay was a huge success! Thank you to the over 20 participants who attended this event! Plus, huge shout-out to our guest speakers, Kim from Heaven Can Wait Rescue Foundation, and Petra for taking the time to speak with us. We had a lot of fun, and got to learn a lot with all of you about pet adoption!

BOTTLE COLLECTION SERVICE: DONATION TO THE YCC BAGGED LUNCH PROGRAM - AUG 2020
Following our donation of $2196.05 to BB4CK about 10 months ago, we have been able to raise an additional $1722.15 through our Bottle Depot Initiative.
This time around, we have decided to donate this money to the Youth Centres of Calgary Bagged Lunch Program. This wonderful organization has, following the COVID-19 crisis, created a lunch program that now runs in 10 locations across Calgary, to help support kids and families in need, 7 days a week. In addition to providing lunches, they also offer pantry bags, children’s books, toys, arts and crafts, and even used sports equipment.
Given the $2.45 cost to create a lunch, our donation is the equivalent of 700 lunches, all to help feed kids and families across Calgary, a number we are quite proud of. Two representatives from the program, Jane and Cheryl, came to accept the donation as well as speak with some of the kids from the Spruce Kids Club about the wonderful impact this donation will have.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who donated to this program, even amidst the COVID-19 situation. This truly would not be possible without you, and we are extremely grateful for your continued support.
BOTTLE COLLECTION SERVICE: DONATION AND VOLUNTEERING AT BB4CK - OCT 2019
Through our Bottle Depot Initiative, we were able to raise a grand total of $2196.05, just in the months of January through August. The Spruce Kids went to the headquarters of the Brown Bagging for Calgary's Kids to donate all of this money, while volunteering to help feed some kids of our own! According to BB4CK, the money we donated was enough to help build almost 1100 lunches! Add that to the 400 snacks we helped make at the BB4CK kitchen and we helped contribute to building 1500 lunches! That's amazing!
Currently, we have an additional $300 dollars raised from September and October left over, and given the success of this project, we hope to continue to raise even more money in support of feeding kids all over Calgary in the coming months.
